During the final year of his Fine art studies at university in 1996 Craig Seabright suffered and injury to the fith vertebrae in his neck which resulted nerve damage to his arms. After taking a year out he completed his degree in 1997 using his foot to produce his work and has used this method of drawing ever since.

FB are messing things up again on the SBLDC page which is not making life easy.
If you post anything and don't see it, it will be one of 2 things...
1: Most posts are going into a 'Potential al Spam' folder in the site's adim section. Please don't duplicate posts, I will approve it when I see anything in there (though there have been real spam in there too)
2: They have also added a sneaky little button which you don't see unless you look. At the top of the posts is a 'Most Relevant' button. Click on that and change it to New Posts to see everything. Unfortunately you have to do that each time you check the page.
Hope this helps and thanks for the extra work FB.
We will survive Parody from Canada

A parody of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" titled "We Will Survive" was written by Gord Moran, a retired teacher from Prince Edward County, Ontario, in response to the US tariff threat. The song was produced by Wayne McFaul and sung by Sonya Zaback. Gord Moran passed away shortly before the song's release, but he was able to hear the finished version.
This made me laugh...
The city of Amsterdam is known not only for its great museums but also for its thriving erotic culture, with brothels and peep shows galore. But as a small protest last week demonstrated, there are still a few groups that will get their dander up when they feel their religion is being slighted, especially when it involves a sexual joke. The current dustup actually comes as a result of a collision of the worlds of culture and sex—namely, a prophylactic on view at the Rijksmuseum.
A 19th century condom printed with a sexual scene involving a nun and three members of the clergy, is on display in the exhibition “Safe Sex?” at the national museum. In the bawdy scene, the nun has raised her skirt to reveal her crotch as three clergymen expose themselves to her, over the caption Voilà, mon choix (there, that’s my choice). The scene echoes, with genders reversed, the classical scene of the Judgment of Paris, in which the Trojan prince is forced to decide who was most beautiful among the goddesses Aphrodite, Hera, and Athena.
Coincidence or what...
This week I created 2 new life drawing stories of artists that primerily work with nude models. The first was Jenny Saville, a British artists who held the record for selling the highest value painting at auction with her painting "Propped" which sold at Sotheby's London in 2018 for £9.5 million (approximately $12.4 million at the time),
The next life drawing story was a Dutch artist called Marlene Dumas, who this week sold her painting 'Miss January' at Christie’s for $13.6 Million setting a new record for a living female aerist at auction... Am I an omen of good fortune?
I'll read both stories out next mext nmonth.
I forgot to post last months donation to UNICEF from the popular portrait session. We raised £200 and they receive £250 after gift aid.
Many thanks to all who donated - next portrait session on May 28th.
